Job Description
Based in Dunboyne, this role is part of a global microbiology team supporting manufacturing sites across an international network. The position combines hands-on laboratory work with global collaboration, supporting new product introduction, microbiological method transfer, investigational support and the adoption of innovative technologies. Furthermore, the global team is seen as microbial method owners for the network including driving standardization and optimization. This is an opportunity to operate as a subject matter expert within a high-impact, science-led environment.

Act as a subject matter expert for microbiological methods across a global network

Lead and support method transfer, validation, and lifecycle management activities

Lead and contribute to the implementation of microbiological and rapid technologies

Provide scientific support for investigations, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis

Support new product introduction and ensure readiness at receiving sites

Contribute to regulatory documentation and global compliance activities

Collaborate across multidisciplinary teams and act as a key technical point of contact

Coach team members and promote knowledge sharing

Degree in Microbiology or a related discipline; postgraduate qualification desirable

Significant experience (8 years) in pharmaceutical microbiology in a regulated environment

Strong hands-on expertise in microbial testing (e.g. bioburden, endotoxin, sterility)

Experience in method execution, validation, and technology transfer

Strong project management skills & proven ability to manage complex projects.

Solid understanding of regulatory requirements and quality standards

Ability to operate as a subject matter expert within global teams

Strong problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills

Proactive, solution-focused mindset with a passion for continuous improvement.
