About the Role
Extreme Balconies is looking for an experienced Metal Fabricator with 5+ years experience who is ready to take the next step in their career into a Supervisor role.
This is a hands-on position for someone who is confident in their fabrication skills, takes pride in their work and is ready to develop their leadership and management skills. Previous supervisory or management experience it is an advantage but not essential – training and support will be provided.
You will work alongside the production team on the factory floor, helping to organise the day-to-day workload, support other fabricators and ensure work is completed safely, efficiently and to a high standard.
The ideal candidate will be a strong fabricator who naturally takes responsibility, can lead by example and is keen to progress within a growing construction and offsite manufacturing company.
Key Responsibilities
- Work hands-on alongside the fabrication team
- Help supervise and organise the day-to-day production workload
- Support and guide other members of the production team
- Ensure fabrication work is completed to the required quality standards
- Help manage production schedules and priorities
- Identify and resolve fabrication and production issues
- Ensure the factory is kept safe, clean and organised
- Work closely with management, design, procurement and project teams
- Help ensure materials, tools and equipment are available when required
- Support continuous improvement across the production process
- Take responsibility for maintaining high standards of workmanship and productivity
Experience & Skills
- Minimum 5 years' experience in metal/steel fabrication
- Strong hands-on fabrication skills
- Experience within structural steel, steel fabrication, construction or manufacturing
- Ability to read and understand fabrication drawings
- Good understanding of workshop and manufacturing processes
- Strong attention to detail and pride in workmanship
- Good communication and problem-solving skills
- Reliable, organised and able to take responsibility
- Health and safety awareness within a workshop environment
- A willingness to learn and develop into a leadership position
The Ideal Candidate
We are looking for someone who is currently working as a Senior Fabricator, Metal Fabricator or similar and feels ready for the next step.
You don't need to have managed a team before. We're looking for someone with the right attitude, strong fabrication experience and the ability to lead by example. Training and support will be provided to help you develop into the role.
This is a great opportunity for an experienced fabricator who wants to progress their career without stepping away from the hands-on side of fabrication.
Working Arrangements
This is a full-time, site-based position.
The role will be predominantly hands-on, working alongside the fabrication team, with responsibility for helping to supervise and coordinate production.
