The Role
Cargo Power Logistics LTD is seeking a detail-driven and proactive Transport Planner to join our fast-paced and growing logistics team. This role offers an exciting chance to contribute directly to the smooth running of our daily transport activities while maintaining a strong focus on customer satisfaction.
Reporting directly into Management, the successful applicant will oversee daily driver scheduling, driver route planning, manages customer bookings, and ensure that all collections and deliveries are carried out safely, on schedule, and in full accordance with transport legislation. Ensuring high quality service across Ireland.
This full-time role is on site in our offices in Galvone Limerick Monday to Friday with occasional weekend work depending on business needs.

Responsibilities
- Route Optimisation: Plan and schedule daily deliveries, optimising fleet usage for full and Multi drop loads.
- Driver Management: Schedule drivers ensuring full compliance with EU Tachograph Regulations and Working Time Directives.
- Stakeholder Liaison: Act as the primary point of contact for drivers, sub-contractors, and clients.
- Input and manage jobs on our in-house system (Move IT).
- Monitor fleet availability and coordinate maintenance/testing schedule with fleet manager.
- Proactively resolve operational issues and minimise service disruption.
- Identify opportunities to improve service delivery and customer service.
- Monitor driver performance and daily progress.
Requirements and Competencies
- Transport planning experience - A background in transport planning or logistics (2+ years in a similar role preferred)
- Strong organisational ability - Proven skills in managing multiple tasks and maintaining structure in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of driver regulations – solid understanding of driver hours, working time rules, and tachograph compliance.
- Communication and service skills – Confident communicator with a customer-focused approach.
- Ability to perform under pressure – Capable of handling challenges quickly and making sound decisions in time-sensitive situations.
- IT Proficiency – Comfortable using transport systems, software tools, and accurate data entry.
- Commercial awareness – Understanding of cost control and ability to plan operations efficiently and economically.
Pay: €41,000.00-€50,000.00 per year
