FRS Recruitment is currently recruiting on behalf of a leading healthcare client for a Carpenter to join the maintenance team at a busy healthcare facility in Portlaoise, Co. Laois.
This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified carpenter with experience in maintenance, facilities management, commercial, industrial, or healthcare environments to contribute to the upkeep and safe operation of critical healthcare infrastructure.
Working as part of a multidisciplinary maintenance team, you will be responsible for carrying out reactive and planned maintenance across healthcare buildings and facilities while ensuring high standards of safety and compliance

Perform reactive, preventative, and planned maintenance on building fabric and structural elements.

Carry out first and second-fix carpentry works.

Repair and replace doors, frames, locks, PVC windows, glazing, and architectural ironmongery.

Construct and install bespoke cabinetry, shelving, countertops, partition walls, and storage units.

Inspect, maintain, and repair fire doors and associated components in line with fire safety regulations.

Undertake minor building works, ceiling installations, floor repairs, and emergency roof and leak remediation.

Assist contractors with site works and facility alterations.

Update maintenance records using digital maintenance management systems, including NEIS.

Ensure all tools, equipment, and materials are maintained to required safety standards.

QQI Level 6 Advanced Certificate Craft - Carpentry & Joinery (or equivalent recognised qualification), including:
- National Craft Certificate (FETAC), or

Senior Trade Certificate, or
-
City & Guilds Level 3 Technical/Trade Qualification.

Proven carpentry experience in a commercial, industrial, facilities maintenance, or healthcare environment.

Full Category B driving licence.

Strong knowledge of health and safety practices.

Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Experience working within healthcare or public sector facilities.

Knowledge of fire door maintenance and compliance requirements.

Experience using digital maintenance management systems.

Safe Pass certification

Salary starting from €42,065 per annum.
