The Role
We are currently seeking a friendly, reliable, and customer-focused individual to join our team on the Trade Counter.
Key Responsibilities
● Serving trade customers at the trade counter and processing sales transactions accurately.
● Providing knowledgeable and professional customer service to trade and retail customers.
● Assisting customers with product enquiries, stock availability, pricing, and order information.
● Preparing quotations, processing orders, and arranging customer collections where required.
● Handling telephone and email enquiries in a timely and professional manner.
● Building positive relationships with regular trade customers and understanding their requirements.
● Maintaining accurate records of orders, customer accounts, and transactions.
● Keeping the trade counter area clean, organised, and well presented.
● Working closely with colleagues across the store to ensure excellent customer service and efficient operations.
What We’re Looking For
● Previous experience in a trade counter, builders merchant, hardware, retail, or customer service role is desirable.
● Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a customer-focused approach.
● Good product knowledge of hardware, building materials, or home improvement products is advantageous.
● Ability to work efficiently in a busy environment and manage multiple tasks.
● Good attention to detail and accuracy when processing orders and transactions.
● Confident using computer systems, point-of-sale software, and customer accounts.
● A positive attitude, willingness to learn, and strong team ethic.
● Reliable, flexible, and committed to providing excellent service.
