School Aged Childcare (SAC) Manager
The Hive Childcare is growing, and we are looking for an experienced, motivated, and child-focused School Aged Childcare (SAC) Manager to lead our service in Donabate.
About the Role
As SAC Manager, you will be responsible for the day-to-day management and operation of our school-age childcare service, ensuring the highest standards of care, safety, and compliance. You will lead and support a team of educators while creating a positive, inclusive, and engaging environment where children can thrive.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced childcare professional with strong leadership skills, knowledge of the National Childcare Scheme (NCS), and experience managing bookings, administration, and service delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the daily operation of the School Age Childcare service.
- Lead, support, supervise, and motivate a team of 7 - 10 childcare educators.
- Manage staff rosters, attendance, performance, and team development.
- Coordinate child registrations, bookings, enrolments, and waiting lists.
- Administer and maintain NCS registrations, claims, and compliance requirements.
- Ensure compliance with Tusla regulations, company policies, and safeguarding procedures.
- Develop and implement engaging programmes, activities, and holiday camps for children.
- Build positive relationships with children, families, schools, and external stakeholders.
- Monitor occupancy levels and support service growth and sustainability.
- Maintain accurate records, reports, and documentation.
- Support children's wellbeing, inclusion, emotional development, and positive behaviour.
- Manage daily communication with parents and guardians in a professional and responsive manner.
- Ensure the service environment remains safe, welcoming, and child-centred at all times.
We Are Looking For Someone Who Is:
- An experienced childcare professional with previous management or supervisory experience.
- Knowledgeable and confident in administering the National Childcare Scheme (NCS).
- Experienced in managing bookings, registrations, and childcare administration systems.
- A strong leader who can inspire, support, and develop a team.
- Highly organised with excellent time management and problem-solving skills.
- Professional, approachable, and confident communicating with families and stakeholders.
- Passionate about providing high-quality school-age childcare.
- Flexible, proactive, and able to work independently using their own initiative.
Essential Requirements
- Relevant qualification in Early Childhood Care and Education, School Age Childcare, or a related field.
- Previous experience in a School Age Childcare, Early Years, or childcare management role.
- Experience managing staff and leading teams.
- Knowledge of Tusla regulations, child protection requirements, and quality standards.
- Experience using NCS systems and childcare management software.
- Excellent administrative and organisational skills.
Desirable
- Full clean driving licence and access to a car.
- Experience managing multiple childcare programmes or locations.
- First Aid, Children First, and Safeguarding training.
