Core Responsibilities
- Site Inspections: Conduct routine safety walks, audits, and environmental checks to identify hazards and monitor corrective actions through to completion
- Risk Management: Prepare and Review and update Risk Assessment Method Statements (RAMS) and ensure safe systems of work.
- Training and Inductions: Deliver safety briefings, toolbox talks, and site inductions for staff and subcontractors.
- Incident Investigation: Record and investigate accidents, near misses, and dangerous occurrences to find root causes.
- Regulatory Compliance: Maintain site safety files and ensure adherence to local legislation (such as Irish or UK health and safety regulations).
- Promote a positive safety culture across the organisation.
- Provide competent health and safety advice to management and employees.
Key Requirements & Qualifications
- Education: A relevant Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Occupational Health, Safety, Environmental Science, or a related field.
- Certifications: Often requires credentials like NEBOSH General or Construction certificates, or active membership in bodies like IOSH.
- Experience: Typically, 2 to 5 years of practical safety advisory experience, especially within construction, engineering, or industrial sectors.
- Skills: Strong communication, problem-solving, and the ability to influence safe behaviour’s across all levels of a project. Strong working knowledge of Irish health & safety regulations and site compliance
Pay: €55,000.00-€70,000.00 per year
