The TechOps Team
The TechOps team is responsible for the reliability, security and day-to-day operation of Spectate’s production systems and internal technology services. The team supports production infrastructure, development and test environments, workplace technology.
Working closely with engineering and other technology teams, TechOps helps ensure Spectate’s platforms remain available, resilient, secure and able to support both current and future business needs.
What you will be doing:
- Lead and develop the TechOps team, including recruitment, performance management and capability development.
- Own the day-to-day operation and support of production systems, infrastructure, workplace technology and telecommunications.
- Ensure high availability, effective monitoring and timely resolution of operational issues.
- Support and lead the 24/7 operational support capability where required.
- Maintain appropriate technology standards, governance and operational controls.
- Lead operational information security activities and ensure appropriate policies, controls and procedures are in place.
- Support disaster recovery and business continuity planning and testing.
- Manage technology vendors, service levels and relevant budgets.
- Work with engineering and other teams to improve reliability, scalability, performance and operational efficiency.
- Drive continuous improvement through automation, problem management, documentation and adoption of relevant industry best practices.
Who we are looking for:
- Significant experience in Technology Operations, Infrastructure, Systems Administration or a similar technical operations role.
- Experience leading and developing technical teams.
- Strong experience supporting highly available, business-critical production systems.
- Good knowledge of AWS, VMware and Microsoft high-availability environments.
- Strong understanding of TCP/IP networking, routing, firewalls and network security.
- Experience with monitoring, configuration and operational support tooling.
- Good understanding of information security standards and controls, including PCI and ISO 27001.
- Experience with Linux environments, web technologies and relational databases.
- Strong scripting or automation skills, such as Bash or Python.
- Experience with disaster recovery, business continuity and vendor management.
- Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving and communication skills.
- Ability to prioritise effectively across operational, technical and people responsibilities.
- A relevant degree, professional certification or equivalent practical experience.
