At Internal Audit we make a difference – as a trusted partner we protect and improve the organization with professional excellence, state-of-the-art technology and passion for people development. We provide internal audit services to Allianz SE, Allianz Reinsurance Dublin, and other Allianz entities, while collaborating with and leading the Internal Audit functions across the Allianz Group. Together, we support the Board of Management and Audit Committee in the supervision and assessment of the Internal Control System.
As a member of the PC / Reinsurance Practice within Group Audit, you will operate at the heart of Allianz’s global Property Casualty and Reinsurance business. In this role, you will add value to the business by identifying risks at an early stage, providing independent assurance, and helping to further strengthen the internal control system.

Key Responsibilities :
Lead and execute risk-based audits utilizing data analytics and technology
- Plan, design, lead, and perform internal audits covering areas such as reinsurance underwriting, claims, pricing, related data/systems/projects, and related risk management and control processes.
- Conduct risk assessments, define audit scopes, perform control testing, analyze results, and develop meaningful audit conclusions and recommendations.
- Leverage data analytics, automation, and AI-assisted audit techniques to enhance audit coverage, improve efficiency, and deliver deeper insights
- Contribute to the development of audit programs, audit methodologies, and audit guidance for PC and Reinsurance topics across the Group.
- Support the maintenance and continuous enhancement of the Group Audit Universe and annual risk assessment process.
- Actively contribute to the digital transformation of Internal Audit processes.
- Evaluate the adequacy and effectiveness of governance, risk management, and internal control systems.
Partner with stakeholders, collaborate and innovate
- Build strong relationships with auditees, senior management, and control functions.
- Present audit observations confidently and diplomatically, even in challenging situations.
- Communicate effectively with stakeholders at all organizational levels and provide timely updates on audit progress and outcomes.
- Collaborate with audit teams across the Allianz Group as well as functions such as Risk Management, Compliance, and Underwriting/Claims Governance
- Promote knowledge sharing and best-practice exchange within the global Internal Audit community.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of audit methodologies, tools, and working practices.
Skills and Experience:Essential:
- Master's degree in insurance, Economics, Business Administration, Mathematics, Actuarial Science, Risk Management, Finance, Law, Data Analytics, or a comparable discipline.
- Minimum 5 years of relevant professional experience in reinsurance or PC insurance, e.g. Underwriting, Claims, Risk Management, Product and Pricing, Compliance, or another relevant (re-)insurance-related field. Alternatively, minimum 5 years of relevant experience in a Big Four, consulting, or comparable professional-services environment.
- Ability to communicate complex topics clearly and effectively while considering different stakeholder perspectives.
- Self-motivated, proactive, and able to work independently in a dynamic international environment.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build trusted relationships across cultures and organizational levels.
- Data analytics and digital skills.
- Willingness to travel internationally as required.
- Excellent English communication skills, both verbal and written.
Desirable:
- Experience working within a global insurance or reinsurance organization. Strong understanding of PC insurance and Reinsurance business models, operating processes, risks, and internal controls.
- Strong understanding of regulatory expectations and industry developments affecting insurers and reinsurers.
- Experience in auditing principles and techniques, as well as risk management concepts, data analysis tools such as Power BI, Python, or SQL as well AI/LLM systems and agents (e.g. MS CoPilot, Open AI ChatGPT, Anthropic Claude).
- Experience applying data analytics, visualization tools, generative AI, or other advanced technologies in audit or business environments.
