Opportunity
We're looking for an enthusiastic Laboratory Technician to join our Quality & Technical team. This is an exciting opportunity for someone with a passion for food science, microbiology or laboratory analysis who is looking to build a career in the food industry.
You'll gain hands-on experience in a busy dairy laboratory, working alongside an experienced team dedicated to producing safe, high-quality products while maintaining the highest food safety and quality standards.
About the Role
Reporting to the Laboratory Manager, you'll play an important role in supporting Glenisk's laboratory and quality systems.
You'll be involved in:
- Microbiological and quality testing of raw milk, pasteurised milk, water and finished products.
- Daily laboratory analysis in line with established testing schedules.
- Monitoring product quality through shelf-life and stress testing.
- Preparing laboratory media and maintaining laboratory consumables.
- Hygiene monitoring, environmental swabbing and factory hygiene audits.
- Recording, reviewing and reporting laboratory results.
- Supporting Glenisk's Quality Management System (QMS).
- Assisting with supplier quality monitoring and compliance.
- Supporting internal audits and regulatory inspections.
- Working closely with Production, Quality and Operations teams to maintain Glenisk's high quality standards.
About You
We're looking for someone who has:
- A Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Microbiology, Biological Sciences, Biotechnology, Chemistry or a related scientific discipline.
- Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills.
- Strong organisational and time management skills.
- A positive attitude and willingness to learn.
- Excellent communication skills.
- The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Previous laboratory experience is beneficial but not essential.
