We are an established architectural practice working across a varied range of educational, residential, commercial, healthcare and leisure projects.
We are looking for an experienced Architectural Technician / Technologist to join our team and take a key role in the design development, technical delivery and construction stages of projects.
This is a varied position for someone with strong technical ability who also enjoys being involved in the wider architectural process. You will have the opportunity to contribute to projects from design and planning through detailed design, compliance and construction.
The Role
Depending on experience, the role will include:
- Involvement in design development and preparation of planning applications
- Preparation of planning, technical and construction drawings using AutoCAD
- Development of projects from initial design through to detailed design and construction
- Preparation of specifications, tender and construction documentation
- Coordination with clients, architects, engineers, consultants and other design team members
- Resolution of technical and construction issues as projects progress
- Coordination of Irish Building Regulations and BCAR compliance
- Preparation and coordination of Fire Safety Certificate applications
- Preparation and coordination of Disability Access Certificate applications
- Liaison with contractors and consultants during the construction stage
- Opportunity to take responsibility for projects and work with a high degree of autonomy
About You
We are looking for someone with:
- Significant experience as an Architectural Technician / Architectural Technologist, or in a similar technically focused architectural role
- Strong AutoCAD skills
- Excellent technical detailing and construction knowledge
- Excellent working knowledge of the Irish Building Regulations
- Good knowledge of the Irish planning system and planning process
- Experience with BCAR
- Experience preparing detailed tender and construction drawing packages
- An ability to contribute to design development and practical problem-solving
- The ability to work independently and take responsibility for projects
- Strong communication and design-team coordination skills
Experience preparing Fire Safety Certificate and Disability Access Certificate applications would be a significant advantage.
