Job Description – Waiter / Waitress
We are looking for a friendly, reliable, and customer-focused Waiter/Waitress to join our team. The successful candidate will provide excellent customer service, ensure guests have an enjoyable dining experience, and work efficiently in a fast-paced restaurant environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Greet customers warmly and escort them to their tables.
- Present menus, explain daily specials, and answer questions about food and beverages.
- Take accurate food and drink orders and communicate them to the kitchen and bar staff.
- Serve food and beverages promptly and professionally.
- Check on customers during their meals to ensure satisfaction and respond to requests.
- Clear tables, reset them, and maintain a clean and organised dining area.
- Prepare the restaurant before opening and assist with closing duties at the end of each shift.
- Process cash and card payments accurately using the POS system.
- Work closely with kitchen and bar staff to ensure smooth and efficient service.
- Maintain high standards of cleanliness, food hygiene, and health & safety.
- Restock cutlery, napkins, condiments, and other service items as required.
- Handle customer enquiries and resolve complaints professionally, escalating issues when necessary.
Requirements
- Previous experience in a restaurant, café, or hospitality environment is preferred.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and as part of a team.
- Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays.
- Good time management and a positive attitude.
- Knowledge of food hygiene practices is an advantage.
