M McGuire Haulage Ltd is a well-established transport and logistics company providing reliable haulage, site clearance and bulk excavation services throughout Ireland. Due to continued growth, we are seeking an experienced and proactive Transport Foreman to join our team based at Baldonnel Business Park, Dublin.
Key Responsibilities
- Organise and coordinate daily driver schedules, allocations, and route planning to ensure customer requirements are met efficiently.
- Manage the day-to-day transport operation and act as the first point of contact for drivers throughout the working day.
- Liaise regularly with drivers regarding deliveries, collections, route changes, delays.
- Monitor vehicle and driver utilisation to maximise operational efficiency and minimise downtime.
- Track delivery progress and proactively resolve operational issues as they arise.
- Conduct/Assist with driver inductions, toolbox talks, and ongoing performance monitoring.
- Conduct driver briefings, toolbox talks, and performance monitoring.
- Monitor fuel efficiency and vehicle performance.
- Assist in the onboarding, and training of drivers where required.
- Ensure compliance with road transport legislation, tachograph regulations, and company procedures.
- Ensure company health and safety policies are adhered to at all times.
- Provide operational cover outside normal working hours when required.
Essential Requirements
- Minimum 3-5 years' experience in a transport supervisory, foreman, or fleet management role.
- Strong knowledge of Irish transport legislation and fleet compliance requirements.
- Experience managing drivers and transport operations in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent organisational and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and leadership abilities.
- Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office and transport management systems.
- Ability to work under pressure and make effective operational decisions.
- Full clean driving licence.
Desirable Requirements
- CPC Qualification (National and/or International).
- Experience within haulage, construction, waste, or logistics sectors.
- Knowledge of fleet maintenance management systems.
- Experience with driver performance management and compliance auditing.
