The Project Manager is responsible for leading the successful delivery of renewable energy construction projects from planning and design through to commissioning and handover. The role involves managing project schedules, budgets, contractors, and stakeholders while ensuring compliance with health, safety, environmental, and quality standards. The Project Manager provides leadership to site teams, mitigates project risks, controls costs, and maintains strong client relationships to ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

Key Accountabilities
Project Planning and Execution:

Develop and manage detailed project plans, schedules, and budgets.

Coordinate with design, procurement, and construction teams to ensure project milestones are met.

Oversee all phases of the construction process from pre-construction through to commissioning and handover.
Stakeholder Management:

Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, contractors, and other stakeholders.

Maintain effective communication with all project participants to ensure alignment and resolve issues promptly.

Prepare and present regular project status reports to stakeholders.
Team Leadership:

Lead and manage on-site construction teams, including subcontractors.

Foster a positive and productive work environment.

Ensure all team members understand their roles and responsibilities.

Participate in monthly Lessons Learned sessions, bringing specific contributions to be shared with the broader organisation.

Manage and mentor team members as required. This role may encompass line management of a number of direct employees with associated tasks including performance management, KPI setting and discussions.
Compliance and Quality Assurance:

Ensure all construction activities comply with relevant health, safety, and environmental regulations.

Implement quality control procedures to ensure high standards of workmanship.

Conduct regular site inspections and audits to monitor compliance and quality.
Risk Management:

Identify and mitigate project risks and issues.

Develop contingency plans to address potential project disruptions.

Ensure project documentation is maintained and up to date.
Budget and Cost Control:

Manage project budgets, including cost forecasting and tracking.

Approve project expenditures and manage vendor contracts.

Identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising project quality or safety.

Assist in any other duties which may encompass the role.
Requirements
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in construction management, Engineering, Renewable Energy, or a related technical discipline

Minimum 5 years’ experience in project management within construction, utilities, or the renewable energy sector.

Strong knowledge of Safety, Health & Welfare at Work (Construction) Regulations 2013, PSCS duties, and statutory compliance.

Proven ability to manage EPC contracts, variations, claims, and contractual documentation.

Strong technical understanding of civil, mechanical, and electrical scopes, particularly for solar PV projects.

Demonstrated competence in project planning and scheduling tools (MS Project, Primavera, or similar).

Hands-on experience in quality assurance, ITPs, inspections, and technical documentation (as-builts, O&M files).

Financial literacy with experience in budget control, cash flow, valuations, and cost forecasting.

Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills, including managing multidisciplinary teams.

Experience coordinating construction, commissioning, and energisation activities.

Ability to manage environmental controls, waste, noise, dust, and planning conditions on construction sites.
