We are seeking an experienced, dedicated, compassionate, and motivated nurse to join our welcoming and patient-focused family practice, where you'll work alongside experienced GPs and a supportive administration team to deliver exceptional care to our community.
Our team consists of 3 doctors, one nurse, four administrative staff. We provide a broad range of services to the community ranging from general to acute, pre to post-natal and chronic care.
Position
We are currently seeking to recruit 1 full-time or 2 part-time General Practice Nurses. Location: Kilcoole and Wicklow Town, Ireland
About the Role
As a General Practice Nurse, you will provide high-quality, evidence-based nursing care to patients of all ages. You will play a key role in health promotion, disease prevention, chronic disease management, and delivering a wide range of clinical services within a busy family practice.
Key Responsibilities
· Deliver safe, patient-centred nursing care in accordance with NMBI standards and best practice guidelines.
· Manage chronic disease clinics, including diabetes, asthma, COPD, hypertension, and cardiovascular disease.
· Administer childhood and adult immunisations and vaccinations.
· Carry out phlebotomy, ECGs, blood pressure monitoring, urinalysis and other routine clinical procedures.
· Perform cervical screening (where appropriately trained).
· Provide wound assessment, wound care, and dressing management.
· Deliver health screening, preventative care, and lifestyle advice to support long-term wellbeing.
· Educate and empower patients to manage their health effectively.
· Maintain accurate electronic patient records while ensuring confidentiality and GDPR compliance.
· Work collaboratively with GPs and the wider healthcare team to provide outstanding patient care.
· Show personal interest and responsibility in continuous professional development.
· Maintain clinical stock management, appropriate handling and storage of medical supplies, and timely ordering.
Essential Requirements
· Current registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI).
· Minimum of 5 years' post-registration nursing experience.
· Ideally 1–2 years' experience working as a General Practice Nurse in a primary care setting.
· Excellent clinical assessment and communication skills.
· Strong organisational and time management abilities.
· Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
· A caring, professional, and patient-focused approach.
Pay: €25.00-€29.00 per hour
