About Us:
Sammin Engineering is a leading Irish electrical contracting and engineering firm delivering high-quality projects across the commercial, industrial, and technology sectors in Ireland and the UK. As part of our continued growth, we are seeking an experienced Electrical Estimator to join our expanding team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates for electrical installation and construction projects.
- Review and analyse tender documentation, drawings, and specifications to determine scope of work.
- Complete material and labour take-offs and compile pricing using in-house and supplier data.
- Liaise with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain competitive quotations and assess best-value options.
- Prepare tender submissions, cost summaries, and supporting documentation.
- Identify risks, value engineering opportunities, and commercial advantages during tender stage.
- Support handover of successful tenders to project delivery teams.
- Maintain an up-to-date pricing database and supplier/subcontractor contacts.
- Attend pre-tender meetings, site visits, and client briefings as required.
- Collaborate closely with Estimating, Engineering, and Project Management teams.
Experience & Skills:
- Previous experience as an Electrical Estimator within the Irish or UK construction industry.
- Proven background in estimating for commercial, industrial, or large-scale residential projects.
- Experience with data centre, pharmaceutical, or energy sector projects is an advantage.
- Proficiency in Countfire and strong MS Excel skills.
- Excellent understanding of electrical systems, drawings, and materials.
- Strong analytical, numerical, and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tenders under tight deadlines.
