Location: Clearbrook Nursing Home, Finglas, Dublin
Contract Type: Fixed-Term (May 2026 – September 2026)
Hours: Casual – hours will vary week to week depending on operational needs
Shift Times: Between 7:00am and 6:00pm (rota based)
Weekend Work: Required (full flexibility essential)
Salary: €14.15 per hour
This is a fixed-term seasonal position running from May 2026 to September 2026, designed to support increased operational demands during the summer period.
This role is ideal for students or individuals seeking flexible, short-term employment with full availability during this period.

Kitchen Assistant / Laundry Assistant (Seasonal Contract)
Reports To
Support Services Manager
Job Purpose
To support both the Catering and Housekeeping teams in delivering high standards of food service, cleanliness, hygiene, and infection control across the nursing home. This role is split between kitchen duties and housekeeping/laundry responsibilities, ensuring a clean, safe, and comfortable environment for residents at all times.
Key Responsibilities
Food Preparation & Service Support
Assist the Chef with basic kitchen tasks, including:
Preparing and serving porridge
Making sandwiches and light meals
Assisting with simple food preparation as directed
Prepare and serve tea trolleys to residents in a timely and respectful manner
Assist with plating and serving meals as required
Kitchen Porter Duties
Wash dishes, cutlery, cookware, and kitchen equipment
Operate dishwashing equipment safely and correctly
Maintain clean, tidy, and organised kitchen work areas
Dispose of waste appropriately in line with procedures
Laundry & Housekeeping Duties
Assist with laundry services, including washing, drying, folding, and storage of linen and residents’ clothing
Ensure correct handling and separation of items in line with infection control procedures
Clean bedrooms, bathrooms, corridors, and communal areas
Dusting, mopping, vacuuming, and sanitising surfaces
Ensure all housekeeping areas are maintained to a high standard of cleanliness and hygiene
Replenish supplies such as toiletries, towels, and cleaning materials
Dining Room & General Cleanliness
Maintain high standards of cleanliness in:
Dining rooms
Kitchen areas
Service and trolley areas
Clean tables, chairs, floors, and equipment after meal times
Ensure all areas are safe, hygienic, and welcoming for residents
Food Safety, Hygiene & Infection Control
Follow HACCP protocols and infection control procedures at all times
Complete cleaning schedules and temperature checks as required
Report hazards, maintenance issues, or concerns promptly
Communication & Teamwork
Work collaboratively with catering, housekeeping, care, and nursing staff
Report directly to the Support Services Manager
Treat residents with dignity, respect, and compassion at all times
Skills & Experience
Essential
Strong attention to cleanliness and organisation
Reliable, punctual, and fully flexible
Ability to work across multiple departments
Ability to work as part of a team in a care environment
Desirable
Previous experience in kitchen, cleaning, or housekeeping roles
Knowledge of HACCP principles
Food Safety Level 1 or 2 (or willingness to complete training)
