Job Title: Shunter Driver

Job Summary
We are seeking a reliable and safety-conscious Shunter Driver to join our transport and logistics team. The successful candidate will be responsible for safely moving trailers within the yard, loading and unloading goods using a forklift, and ensuring all vehicles and equipment are positioned efficiently to support warehouse and transport operations.
The ideal candidate will hold a valid Category CE (Artic) Driving Licence and a Forklift Licence.
Key Responsibilities
- Safely shunt trailers between loading bays and designated yard locations.
- Position trailers for loading and unloading according to operational schedules.
- Operate a forklift to load, unload, and move pallets and materials safely.
- Complete daily vehicle and forklift safety inspections and report any defects.
- Ensure trailers are secured and parked safely at all times.
- Maintain accurate records of trailer movements and equipment checks.
- Work closely with warehouse and transport teams to meet daily operational targets.
- Keep the yard clean, organised, and free from hazards.
- Assist with general yard and warehouse duties as required.
- Yard maintenance when required.
Essential Requirements
- Valid Category CE (Artic) Driving Licence.
- Valid Forklift Licence (Counterbalance preferred).
- Previous experience as a Shunter Driver, Artic Driver, or in a transport/logistics environment.
- Good understanding of transport safety and yard operations.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work independently and under pressure.
- Flexible approach to working hours, including shifts if required. Typical Irish shunter roles also require an up-to-date CPC, digital tachograph card, and relevant HGV experience.
