Grade IV Clerical Radiology - Full Time and Part Time Panel
Principal Duties and Responsibilities

Registering patients at the reception desk when they arrive in for their appointment, ensuring all information on the system is correct and updated where required

Processing of incoming referrals for diagnostics imaging requests and ensure they are input correctly and in a timely manner

Booking patients in for scans and ensure appropriate letters are issued

Taking payment/updating insurance details where required
- Outsourcing of appointments from a clerical perspective and working closely with the radiographers on compiling the lists for outsourcing and ensure any follow up is completed

Dealing with telephone queries/emails and liaising with radiologists /Radiographers/patients/GPs

Working Closely with the PAC/RIS office
- Liaising with patient accounts office to follow up on admissions/private health insurance forms where necessary

Dealing with patients in relation to any issues/problems they may have in an compassionate/empathic manner

Ensuring that stock levels are adequate of office supplies

Liaise with colleagues across all departments in the hospital as required
-
Process x-ray requests from consultants and GPs via RIS, Health link or Post.

Book appointments and ensure patients receive the correct instructions.
-
Perform high-quality data entry on the Radiology Information System (RIS).
-
Liaise with nursing staff regarding patient preparation for x-rays when required.

Check-in patients upon arrival and ensure all relevant information is entered and up to date ensuring GDPR is adhered to at all times.
- Ensure Printing and distribution of Radiology Reports for External Referrers and The Emergency Department is completed throughout the day.

Check the appointments each day for the previous day and highlight any queries or concerns with Radiographers or Consultant Radiologist.
- Ensure that all patients received phone calls or letters (as appropriate) to confirm their appointments.

Process all DNA (Did not Attend) at the end of each day and inform referring Consultant or GP.

Assist with queries from Consultant, GPs, Patients and external hospitals regarding reports and imagining in a professional and timely manner.

Process freedom of information requests via PACS.

Upload/Scan Patient Consent forms to Radiology Information System (RIS).
- Maintain a high standard of customer service to Patients and Staff.

Ensure Post and Cash box are collected and sorted daily.
- Assist with any Radiology Outsourcing projects as required.
- Assist the Scheduling Team during busy periods as required.
- Ensure the accuracy, confidentiality is adhered to at all times.
