DBC Group is an established Irish-owned B2B business providing identity, access control, visitor management and related technology solutions to organisations throughout Ireland.
We're looking for an experienced, ambitious B2B salesperson to join our small team in Dublin 12.
You'll take ownership of an established portfolio of long-standing customers while also having a strong focus on developing new business and winning significant new target accounts.
This is a hands-on sales role for someone who enjoys building relationships, spotting opportunities and, most importantly, turning opportunities into business.
The Role – Retain, Develop & Win
Your role will have three main objectives:
RETAIN
Build strong relationships with an established customer base and ensure we retain the business and relationships we've developed over many years.
DEVELOP
Look beyond what customers currently buy from us. Identify additional contacts, departments and opportunities and introduce other DBC products and solutions that could benefit their organisation.
WIN NEW BUSINESS
Identify and pursue target accounts throughout Ireland, particularly larger organisations with significant long-term potential.
We want someone who enjoys opening doors and isn't afraid to pursue a company we want to do business with.
You'll research target organisations, identify the right decision-makers and use phone, personalised email, CRM, targeted campaigns, LinkedIn and face-to-face meetings to develop opportunities.
You'll have the freedom to identify customers, markets and campaigns you believe DBC should be targeting — and we'll expect you to take the initiative and pursue good commercial ideas.
What You'll Be Selling
Your primary focus will be our Identity Solutions portfolio, including:
- ID card printing systems and supplies
- Access control cards, fobs and readers
- Visitor management software
- ID cards, lanyards and identification accessories
- Related hardware and software solutions
Full product and technical training will be provided.
Over time, you'll also develop knowledge of other areas of the DBC business, including laminating, print finishing and packaging solutions.
Working With Our Internal Sales Team
We're a small team and work closely together.
As well as developing your own customers and prospects, you'll work side by side with our internal salespeople to help turn prospecting activity and customer conversations into opportunities.
We're particularly interested in someone who enjoys sharing their sales experience — helping colleagues identify target customers, find the right contacts, plan an approach, improve prospecting and move opportunities forward.
Previous experience coaching, mentoring or working alongside less-experienced salespeople would be an advantage.
We want someone who can deliver their own results while also helping the people around them become better at selling.
Modern B2B Selling
Good salespeople build relationships. Great salespeople also have a process.
CRM, planning and follow-up are important parts of how we operate.
We currently use HubSpot, although previous HubSpot experience isn't essential. Experience using another established CRM effectively is equally relevant.
You'll be expected to keep customer contacts, opportunities, follow-ups, next actions and pipeline information accurate and up to date.
We're looking for someone who combines strong traditional relationship selling with a modern, proactive and digitally organised approach to business development.
Most of your selling will be managed from our Dublin 12 office. When an opportunity benefits from getting in front of the customer, we expect you to get out and meet them.
About You
You'll ideally have:
- 3+ years' B2B sales or business-development experience
- A track record of developing existing accounts and personally winning new business
- Strong prospecting skills and the confidence to approach new organisations
- Experience using CRM as part of your normal sales process
- Strong computer and digital skills
- Good commercial instincts and the ability to spot opportunities
- An interest in technology and the ability to understand hardware and software solutions
- Strong planning, organisation and follow-through
- Confidence dealing with larger organisations and multiple decision-makers
- The ability to work independently and take responsibility for results
- A full driving licence
Experience in technology, access control, security, SaaS, office technology, managed services or hardware/software sales would be useful, but isn't essential.
We're more interested in your ability to sell, learn, develop relationships and create opportunities than whether you've worked in our particular industry before.
Working at DBC
We're a team of around 10 people, so you won't disappear into a large sales department.
You'll work closely with the Managing Director, our internal salespeople and the wider DBC team. You'll have the freedom to bring forward ideas, pursue opportunities and see the direct impact of the business you develop.
Because we're a small team, personality matters.
We're looking for someone who is positive, proactive, commercially ambitious and good to work with.
Someone who takes responsibility for their own results, enjoys winning business and is equally comfortable helping the people around them succeed.
And a good sense of humour definitely helps.
