We are currently seeking an experienced Electrical Project Engineer to join our team delivering water and wastewater infrastructure projects across Ireland. The role involves working on a diverse portfolio of MEICA and civil engineering projects within the utilities sector.
The successful candidate will play a key role in the design, coordination, and delivery of electrical systems for water and wastewater treatment facilities, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, and within budget.
Key Responsibilities:
Support the design and delivery of electrical and control systems for water and wastewater projects
Work closely with civil, mechanical, ICA, and design teams in a multi-disciplinary environment
Oversee installation and commissioning of electrical systems
Coordinate subcontractors and suppliers to meet project requirements
Conduct site visits to monitor progress and ensure compliance with safety and quality standards
Assist in project planning, scheduling, and cost control
Prepare technical documentation and progress reports for clients and management
Identify and resolve technical, commercial, and scheduling issues
Ensure adherence to health, safety, environmental, and quality standards
Maintain strong relationships with clients and stakeholders
Support continuous improvement of engineering processes and project delivery
Mentor junior engineers and support team development
Requirements:
Degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline
5+ years’ experience in electrical engineering (water/wastewater or utilities preferred)
Strong understanding of electrical, instrumentation, control, and automation systems (MEICA)
Experience in project delivery within infrastructure or utilities sector
Knowledge of NEC4 contracts (advantageous)
Strong communication and coordination skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and project management tools
Ability to manage multiple stakeholders and deadlines
Problem-solving mindset and strong technical ability
Desirable:
Chartered Engineer or working towards chartership
Experience in water treatment or wastewater infrastructure projects
Knowledge of ICA / SCADA / automation systems
Strong commercial and contract awareness
Experience mentoring junior engineers
