About the Role
We are seeking an experienced IT Infrastructure Engineer to join our team, supporting a hybrid IT environment across project sites and central systems.
This role is critical to ensuring the reliability, security, and performance of both on-premise and cloud-based infrastructure. You will work across a mix of physical infrastructure, Microsoft Azure, and network connectivity to support business operations across geographically distributed locations.
Key Responsibilities
Infrastructure Deployment & Support
- Install, configure, and maintain on-site IT infrastructure including routers, switches, firewalls, and servers
- Set up and manage site IT environments, including connectivity, wireless networks, and end-user equipment
- Support commissioning of IT infrastructure for new project sites
Azure Cloud & Hybrid Infrastructure
- Deploy and manage Azure resources (Virtual Machines, networking, storage)
- Support and troubleshoot hybrid environments connecting on-premise infrastructure to Azure
- Manage and maintain Azure VPN connectivity for secure remote access
- Monitor and optimise performance of cloud infrastructure
Networking & Connectivity
- Troubleshoot network and connectivity issues across multiple locations
- Ensure resilient, secure connectivity between project sites and central systems
- Work with ISPs and third-party providers to maintain network uptime
Support, Maintenance & Monitoring
- Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, and infrastructure issues
- Perform patching, upgrades, and lifecycle management of IT systems
- Monitor system performance, availability, and security across environments
Security & Compliance
- Implement and maintain security best practices across infrastructure
- Collaborate with internal security teams to meet compliance requirements
- Support backup, restore, and disaster recovery processes
Asset & Documentation Management
- Track IT assets and maintain accurate inventory
- Produce and maintain technical documentation for systems and solutions
- Contribute to reporting on system health, usage, and incidents
Collaboration & User Support
- Work closely with internal IT teams, project managers, and site personnel
- Provide hands-on support and guidance to end users when required
- Engage with vendors and support providers to resolve issues efficiently
Required Skills & Experience
Technical Skills
- Strong experience supporting on-premise infrastructure (servers, networking, end-user devices)
- Proven experience working with Microsoft Azure (VMs, networking, storage)
- Experience in hybrid environments (on-prem + cloud connectivity)
- Solid networking knowledge (routing, switching, firewalls, VPNs)
- Experience troubleshooting complex infrastructure and connectivity issues
Desirable
- Experience with Azure networking (VPN / ExpressRoute)
- Exposure to automation or scripting (e.g. PowerShell, Azure tools)
- Understanding of infrastructure security best practices

- Ability to work independently across multiple sites
- Clear communicator with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Organised, with good documentation and reporting discipline
