OVERVIEW:
The Corporate Services Department provides a range of legal, regulatory, communications and governance services in support of Tuath Housing Association's (the Association) business objectives. The Communications & Policy Manager is responsible for communicating the Association's vision and activities to our audiences and stakeholders, both internal and external and monitoring policy and research developments relevant to the Association.
Position Summary:
The Communication's Manager is responsible for contributing to improving overall Association performance in relation to communications, policies and projects.
The Successful Candidate Will:

Advise the Executive Team and the Board on all policy developments, issues management, media opportunities, and policy engagement.

Ensure the delivery of the Association's strategy and plans through various communications channels and active stakeholder engagement, including central and local government officials, media, and other organisations and stakeholders.

Seek out and develop opportunities that enhance the profile of the Association.

Lead on all aspects of the Association's public affairs, media relations, and marketing communications, including increasing the Association's profile and building a strong reputation.

Oversee the drafting of publications such as the Annual Report and other marketing or informational materials.

Ensure the Association's online presence via the website and various social media platforms is maintained.

Oversee branding and ensure consistency in the use of the brand.

Ensure the Association's Communication Strategy and Business Continuity Communications Plans are kept up to date.

Monitor, evaluate, and report on all communications activity, providing evidence of impact on Strategic Objectives and making recommendations for future work.

Monitor, understand, analyze, present, and communicate policy developments as they relate to the Association and its stakeholders.

Consult collaboratively internally with the relevant teams in developing policy positions.

Manage the delivery of a research program and report effective conclusions from research findings through a range of platforms.

Work with and support other staff in their communications with external agencies, as required.

Oversee organisational events that involve the celebration and/or promotion of the work of the Association.

Sustain the company culture and drive engagement through employee communications.

Enhance internal communications by developing and implementing effective channels for information dissemination and feedback.

Actively develop the relationship between the work of the Corporate Services Department and its internal customers by collaborating on projects.

Facilitate interdepartmental collaboration to ensure smooth operations and consistent messaging.

Share new knowledge and research internally, supporting a culture of innovation.

Support the Executive Team and internal teams with the preparation of reports and related research as required.

Develop a culture of 'constant improvement' in compliance with a specific focus on process, controls, and systems.

Manage staff on the Communications Team effectively and ensure they feel supported.

Lead on and/or support the review of services and policies across the Association, applying skills, knowledge, and good practice to drive service improvements and make recommendations for change.

Develop and implement internal communication strategies to ensure consistent messaging, foster employee engagement, and support a positive organisational culture.

Facilitate regular cross-departmental communication to ensure alignment on goals, projects, and organisational priorities.
Requirements:

A relevant third level qualification

Expert knowledge of communications and practices
-
Minimum of three years' experience in a similar working environment

Experience of managing staff
-
Experience of dealing with senior management teams, media and stakeholder(s)

Understanding of and experience of working with partners

Computer literacy with experience that includes presentation packages, e-mail, media briefings and website management

Ability to work with accuracy and attention to detail and within deadlines

Excellent reporting skills

Possess good verbal and written communication skills, have the ability to compose letters, press releases, memos and reports

Ability to be self-motivated and work on own initiative and also be part of a team

The ability to handle sensitive and confidential information

The ability to deal with problems/enquiries in a diplomatic and sensitive manner

A high level of organisational skills and the ability to prioritise workload and meet deadlines
