Role Purpose
We are seeking an experienced and safety-focused Forklift Operator to join our manufacturing team.
The successful candidate will be responsible for the safe movement, positioning and loading of modular homes, bathroom pods, steel frames, materials and finished products throughout the factory and loading yard. This role requires exceptional forklift operating skills, particularly when handling large, high-value modular units where precision, balance and teamwork are essential.
The Forklift Operator will work closely with Production, Logistics and Quality teams to ensure modules and materials are moved safely, efficiently and without damage while maintaining the highest standards of health and safety.

Your reporting structure will be clearly communicated during your induction.
Main Duties & Responsibilities
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Operate forklifts and other lifting machines safely and efficiently throughout the manufacturing facility.
- Lift, manoeuvre and position modular homes, bathroom pods and large structural assemblies with precision.
- Assist in loading and unloading of oversized components onto transport vehicles.
- Work with lifting teams to safely relocate large modules within the factory and yard.
- Carry out pre-start inspections and daily safety checks on forklifts and lifting equipment.
- Ensure all lifting operations are completed in accordance with company safety procedures.
- Secure loads correctly to prevent movement or damage during transport.
- Report equipment defects or maintenance requirements promptly.
- Maintain clean and organised loading and storage areas.
- Support production teams by ensuring materials are delivered to workstations on time.
General Responsibilities
The Forklift Operator Specialist may also be required to:
- Assist with loading and unloading supplier deliveries.
- Support logistics and dispatch operations.
- Operate other material handling equipment where trained and authorised.
- Maintain high housekeeping standards throughout the factory.
- Follow all Health & Safety procedures and lifting plans.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives.
- Work collaboratively with Production, Logistics and Quality departments.
Key Performance Indicators
Success in this role will be measured by:
- Zero lifting-related accidents or safety incidents.
- Zero damage to modular units or materials during movement.
- Safe and accurate positioning of modules.
- Timely movement of materials supporting production schedules.
- Completion of daily equipment inspections.
- Positive contribution to factory productivity and safety.
Role Requirements Essential
- Previous experience operating forklifts in a manufacturing, engineering or construction environment.
- Valid Forklift Operator Licence (Counterbalance or equivalent).
- Manual Handling Certificate.
- Experience handling oversized, heavy or high-value loads.
- Good understanding of safe lifting techniques and load balancing.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a lifting team.
- Strong awareness of workplace health and safety.
- Good communication skills in basic English.
- Ability to work accurately under pressure.

Working Hours
The factory currently operates a single shift:
Monday to Thursday: 7:00 am – 4:30 pm
Friday: 7:00 am – 3:30 pm
