Contract Type: Freelance Trainer / Consultant
We are seeking an experienced Chemical Safety Trainer to deliver professional training programmes for clients across Ireland. The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of chemical safety legislation, risk management, safe handling practices, and workplace responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver engaging and practical Chemical Safety training sessions.
- Provide learners with an understanding of safe chemical handling, storage, and usage in the workplace.
- Explain relevant Irish health and safety legislation and employer/employee responsibilities.
- Cover chemical risk assessment processes and control measures.
- Deliver training on Safety Data Sheets (SDS), chemical labels, hazard symbols, and workplace precautions.
- Adapt training content to meet client industry requirements.
- Facilitate discussions, activities, and practical workplace examples.

- Introduction to Chemical Safety in the Workplace
- Chemical Hazards and Classification
- CLP Regulations and Hazard Symbols
- Safety Data Sheets (SDS)
- Chemical Storage and Handling Procedures
- Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
- Chemical Spill Response and Emergency Procedures
- Risk Assessments and Control Measures
- Legal Responsibilities under Irish Health & Safety Legislation
Trainer Requirements
- Proven experience delivering Chemical Safety training.
- Strong knowledge of Irish workplace health and safety requirements.
- Experience working with businesses across different industries.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to deliver engaging and interactive training sessions.
- Ability to tailor training materials to client needs.
Preferred Qualifications / Experience
- Relevant Health & Safety qualification (e.g., NEBOSH, IOSH, QQI, or equivalent).
- Experience in occupational health and safety, environmental safety, or chemical management.
- Previous experience delivering workplace training in Ireland.
