Key Responsibilities
Pizza Preparation and Cooking
Prepare and cook pizzas to the highest standards using established recipes and presentation guidelines. This includes dough stretching, topping preparation, oven management, and final presentation.
Dough Production and Management
Prepare, ferment, and maintain pizza dough according to company specifications, ensuring consistency in texture, flavour, and quality.
Ingredient Preparation
Prepare and organize all pizza toppings, sauces, cheeses, and other ingredients, ensuring freshness and quality at all times.
Stock Management
Monitor inventory levels of pizza ingredients and supplies. Report shortages, control wastage, and assist in maintaining adequate stock levels to support service demands.
Consistency and Quality Control
Maintain consistency in the preparation, cooking, and presentation of all pizzas. Conduct regular quality checks to ensure products meet restaurant standards.
Oven and Equipment Operation
Operate and maintain pizza ovens and related kitchen equipment safely and efficiently. Ensure equipment is clean and functioning correctly.
Health and Safety Compliance
Adhere to all food safety, hygiene, and HACCP procedures. Ensure proper food handling, storage, and sanitation practices are followed at all times.
Timing and Coordination
Work closely with the kitchen and front-of-house teams to ensure timely preparation and delivery of orders, particularly during busy service periods.
Menu Development
Contribute ideas for new pizza recipes, seasonal specials, and menu improvements while maintaining the restaurant's culinary standards.
Cleanliness and Organization
Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient pizza station. Complete daily cleaning schedules and ensure all work areas meet hygiene standards.
Skills and Qualifications
Experience
Minimum 2 years' experience working as a Pizza Chef or in a similar role within a busy restaurant, pizzeria, or hospitality environment.
Technical Skills
Strong knowledge of pizza-making techniques, including dough preparation, fermentation, hand-stretching, topping combinations, and oven operation.
Teamwork and Communication
Ability to work effectively under pressure, communicate clearly with colleagues, and contribute positively to a team environment.
Attention to Detail
Excellent attention to quality, consistency, presentation, and portion control.
Organisational Skills
Strong time management and organizational abilities, capable of handling multiple tasks during busy service periods.
Creativity and Innovation
Passion for food and the ability to contribute creative ideas for menu development and product improvement.
Health and Safety Awareness
Knowledge of HACCP procedures, food safety regulations, and kitchen hygiene standards.
