Social Care Worker/Support Worker, Swords, Co. Dublin
Terms: Initial 1-year fixed term Contract
ROLE SUMMARY
We are seeking an experienced Social Care Worker / Support Worker to support two young men with autism living together in Swords, Co. Dublin. You will support each young man to develop independence, pursue interests, build meaningful relationships and connections, and live an enjoyable and inclusive life. We are looking for someone who understands that autism affects each person differently and who can adapt their approach to individual communication, sensory, social and emotional needs. You will support the young men to develop life skills, manage routines and transitions, make choices and participate actively in their home and community. As they share a home, you will also support them to live well together while respecting their individual needs, choices, interests and personal space.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Support the individuals in all aspects of daily living, both at home and in the community
Assist in promoting independence
Drive company vehicles (full driver's licence essential)
Work as part of a supportive and collaborative team
ESSENTIAL CRITERIA:
Experience in the social care/intellectual disability sector
Experience of supporting people with autism
Excellent communication skills - verbal and written
Full, clean driver's license
Available to work residential hours which will include shift work/ sleepovers and weekends
Hold a relevant qualification in the area of health / social care
SALARY

Salary will be aligned with the Care Assistant or Social Care Worker PayScale, depending on qualifications and experience.

Candidates appointed as Social Care Workers must be registered with CORU.
