Job description
The Foods of Athenry is a food manufacturing company based in Oldcastle, Athenry, Co Galway - producing cereals, granola bars, cookies, bars and Christmas specialties; sold into retail multiples, gifting, food service, airlines as well as independent retailers, both domestically and internationally.
This position is for a 12 month contract and is covering maternity leave. This is a full-time position Monday to Friday based on site in our office in Oldcastle, Athenry, H65 DY95
The Accounts Assistant will report to the Financial Controller.
Main Duties & Responsibilities
· Responsible for the ordering of all purchases, ensuring prompt delivery and liaising with the relevant departments.
· Ensure authorisation of all purchase invoices, resolution of discrepancies and input onto accounts system.
· Process supplier payments within agreed terms.
· Creditor reconciliations and resolution of queries.
· Respond to supplier queries in a timely fashion.
· Stock management – ensure inventory quantities are correct, assist in stocktake and post stock adjustments when required
· Bank reconciliations.
· Creating and posting of sales invoices and allocating receipts to customers.
· Reconciliation of debtor’s accounts.
· Debt chasing for the sales ledger and liaising with the Financial Controller in relation to queries and overdue accounts.
· Taking sales orders and payments over the phone and by email, inputting onto the accounts and ERP systems.
· Managing the online sales to include posting of payments, creating, and posting of sales invoices and allocating payments.
· Assist in co-ordinating and scheduling daily dispatch of goods.
· Preparation of reports and ongoing projects as well as ad hoc requests.
· General office administration to include answering the phones, filing, etc
Requirements:
- 2+ years experience in a similar accounting/multitasking role.
- Accounting technician qualification desired but not essential.
- Strong IT skills with Microsoft Office are essential, experience with Sage 50 accounts and ERP systems would be advantageous.
- Strong analytical skills and proactive thinking.
- Have the ability to work effectively in a team environment as well as under pressure.
- Have excellent interpersonal and written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent time management skills
- Own transport essential as we are rural based

Pay: €32,000.00-€37,000.00 per year
