Junior Engineer for Site in Ballina Co Mayo
Role is to support the planning, coordination, and execution of construction projects by assisting senior engineers and project managers. This role involves site supervision, quality control, documentation, and ensuring that work is carried out safely, efficiently, and in accordance with project specifications, drawings, and relevant regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with the planning and coordination of daily construction activities.
- Review project drawings, specifications, and technical documents.
- Monitor site progress and report on project milestones.
- Conduct site inspections to ensure compliance with quality standards and safety regulations.
- Assist in preparing method statements, risk assessments, and work schedules.
- Coordinate with subcontractors, suppliers, and site personnel.
- Measure completed works and assist with quantity take-offs.
- Maintain accurate site records, including daily reports, inspection records, and progress updates.
- Support the preparation of project documentation, including requests for information (RFIs), technical submittals, and as-built drawings.
- Assist in identifying and resolving technical issues on site.
- Ensure materials and workmanship meet project specifications.
- Attend project meetings and record meeting minutes where required.
- Promote and comply with company health, safety, environmental, and quality (HSEQ) policies.
Qualifications Essential
- Bachelor's degree or Higher Diploma in Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Strong understanding of construction methods and engineering principles.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications.
- Excellent communication and organisational skills.
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving ability.
Desirable
- Experience through internships, work placements, or graduate programmes.
- Familiarity with AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Revit, or similar engineering software.
- Knowledge of construction management software (e.g., Procore, Autodesk Construction Cloud, Microsoft Project, Bluebeam).
- Safe Pass, Manual Handling, or other relevant construction certifications
