International Emergency Assistance Coordinator
Join a global team helping people when they need it most.
At Australasian Assistance, we provide international emergency medical and travel assistance to travellers, expatriates and corporate clients around the world.
With an experienced team based across Australia, New Zealand, Singapore and Ireland, we deliver 24/7 support to people facing medical emergencies and unexpected events while travelling and living overseas.
We're looking for passionate, skilled and resilient emergency assistance coordinators to join our growing Europe-based team. If you have experience in the industry and are looking for a change, we’d love to hear from you.
About the Role
This is a fully remote, work-from-home position for candidates based in Ireland and the UK.
As an International Emergency Assistance Coordinator, you'll coordinate emergency assistance cases as part of a collaborative international team, ensuring travellers receive timely and seamless support throughout their journey.
Working closely with hospitals, airlines, insurers, assistance partners and our experienced in-house medical team, you'll coordinate access to medical care, arrange travel, solve complex logistical challenges and support travellers through some of the most difficult situations they may ever experience.
Working across a 24/7 operation, you'll maintain comprehensive case documentation and provide detailed handovers between shifts, ensuring continuity of care regardless of where the next team member is located.
This is not a traditional customer service or call centre role. Every case is different, requiring critical thinking, sound judgement, empathy and exceptional coordination skills. No two days are ever the same.
What You'll Be Doing
- Coordinate international emergency medical and travel assistance cases as part of a collaborative 24/7 operation.
- Coordinate hospital admissions, outpatient treatment, medical evacuations and repatriations.
- Arrange commercial travel and specialist transport where required.
- Liaise with hospitals, treating medical teams, airlines, insurers and international assistance partners around the world.
- Work closely with our in-house medical team to facilitate clinical reviews and medical recommendations.
- Keep travellers, insurers and stakeholders informed through regular communication and updates.
- Maintain accurate case documentation and ensure operational requirements are met.
- Provide comprehensive handovers to colleagues, ensuring seamless continuity of care between shifts.
- Deliver compassionate, professional support during what are often stressful and emotional situations.
You'll Thrive In This Role If You...
- Enjoy solving complex problems and thinking on your feet.
- Stay calm and organised when priorities change quickly.
- Have excellent communication skills and enjoy building relationships with people from different cultures.
- Enjoy collaborating with others to achieve the best outcomes for travellers.
- Communicate clearly and document thoroughly to support seamless handovers between international teams.
- Can balance empathy with sound judgement and professionalism.
- Enjoy working independently while remaining connected to a supportive team.
- Are naturally curious, proactive and enjoy learning.
- Want a career where your work has a genuine impact on people's lives.
