Job Description – Senior Bar Attendant
The Royal Dublin Golf Club, founded in 1885, is one of Ireland's most historic private members' golf clubs, set on the iconic Bull Island in Dublin Bay. We are now seeking an experienced and motivated Senior Bar Attendant to join our Food and Beverage team. This is a key senior role supporting the Clubhouse Manager and the Restaurant Manager, working closely with the wider F&B team to maintain the high standards our members and guests expect.

Remuneration: €16.50 per hour. Overtime on Sundays at time and a third; double time on Bank Holidays.

Responsibilities of the Senior Bar Attendant
- Provide a warm welcome to all members and guests on arrival at the bar and restaurant areas
- Ensure an excellent front of house experience throughout each shift, allocating and supporting staff to maintain speed of service and cleanliness of all service areas
- Monitor and maintain team standards, addressing and correcting any poor practice promptly
- Serve food and beverage in line with the club's standard operating procedures
- Communicate daily specials, manage allergen awareness, and assist customers with menu enquiries
- Ensure bar and restaurant areas are kept clean and presentable at all times
- Follow up with members and guests on the quality of food, beverage, and service received
- Process payments accurately and issue receipts in line with cash handling policies and procedures
- Ensure all bar and restaurant checklists are completed and signed off each shift
- Complete HACCP training as required to maintain food safety and hygiene standards
- Oversee delivery checks for accuracy and quality, and ensure the safe storage of stock in the cellars
- Manage stock effectively, applying correct rotation procedures
- Maintain back of house and cellar areas to a high standard
- Identify opportunities to reduce waste and control costs
- Assist in the induction and training of new F&B team members
- Monitor team performance and report areas where refresher training may be required
- Maintain a full understanding of licensing legislation and all relevant regulation
- Carry out secure lock-up of the clubhouse at the end of evening shifts
- Assist with any additional duties as requested by management
Requirements of the Senior Bar Attendant
- Minimum of two years' experience in a senior bar role in a hotel, golf club, or quality hospitality venue
- Proven ability to support a team, delegate effectively, and work on own initiative
- Strong customer service skills with a genuine commitment to member and guest satisfaction
- Available to work Monday through Sunday, including major club social and golfing events
- Good time management with the ability to prioritise under pressure
- Hard working and reliable, with a professional approach and strong work ethic
- Knowledge of licensing law and food safety legislation
- HACCP certification desirable
