Job Description:
The Boyne Valley Hotel & Country club are currently looking for an experienced night porter.
As a night porter, based in reception, you will often be the first person to greet guests at a hotel.
In this job you would need customer service skills to welcome guests and see to their needs. You should have a smart appearance. You should also be physically fit, for carrying luggage and setting up meeting rooms.
Duties include:
- To work closely with Reception and carry out any request that they may have in relation to customer needs.
- To ensure all departmental S.O.P’s, Hotel Policies and Procedures are adhered to.
- If you are monitoring the main door at night, ensure all Guests show their room card prior to gaining entry into the late bar.
- To ensure all corridors are clear from trays and debris, collecting any breakfast cards for room service in the morning.
- To ensure the bar closes at the appropriate time
- General janitorial duties
- To serve the late bar for residents.
- To clean and ensure the lobby and surround areas where Guest are, are left clean and tidy
- To ensure back of house areas, including kitchen area where night porter prepare food is left clean.
- To answer the calls on Reception where possible.
- Write any Health/safety or maintenance faults in the book at Reception
- To be vigilant at all times and report any suspicious security matters or intruders on the premises.
- To carry out fire walks during your shift and sign logs. Remove blockages
- To set-up rooms as directed by the manager or assist other department with preparation for the following day.
- To maintain open communication line with Staff & Guests
- To be environmentally friendly and cost aware.
Job Types: Part-time, Permanent
Pay: From €16.50 per hour
Expected hours: 32-40 per week
