Cnoc na nÓg Outdoor Pre-School is seeking a passionate and dedicated Early Years Educator with a minimum Level 6 qualification in Early Childhood Education or higher. 20 hrs per week. The ideal candidate will create a nurturing and stimulating environment that promotes holistic development for children aged 3-6 years. This role emphasises outdoor and nature-based learning, ensuring inclusivity and accessibility for all children. Key Responsibilities:
- Curriculum Development:
- Design and implement engaging, age-appropriate learning experiences that align with the Early Years Curriculum Framework, focusing on play-based and outdoor learning.
- Child-Centric Approach:
- Foster a safe, inclusive, and supportive environment where all children feel valued and encouraged to explore and learn at their own pace.
- Observation and Assessment:
- Conduct regular observations and assessments of children’s development and learning, documenting progress and implementing individualised plans as needed.
- Promote Social Skills:
- Facilitate positive social interactions and support children in developing essential social skills, emotional regulation, and teamwork.
- Collaboration with Families:
- Work collaboratively with families to encourage involvement in their child’s learning and development, maintaining open communication regarding progress and community engagement.
- Health and Safety:
- Ensure the physical and emotional well-being of all children by maintaining a safe and healthy play environment, adhering to relevant health and safety regulations.
Qualifications:
- Level 6 or higher qualification in Early Childhood Education or equivalent.
- Prior experience working with young children in an early years setting.
- Strong knowledge of child development principles and practices.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with an ability to relate to children and families.
- Creative and enthusiastic approach to teaching and learning.
- Understanding of and commitment to inclusive education practices.
- Current First Aid and Child Protection certifications (or willingness to obtain).
