General Operative – Field Service Support
Role
To support Field Service Engineers in the installation, maintenance, repair, and servicing of equipment and systems at customer sites. The role involves assisting with manual tasks, transporting materials and tools, preparing work areas, maintaining safety standards, and ensuring efficient delivery of field service activities.Key Responsibilities
- Assist Field Service Engineers during installation, maintenance, and repair activities.
- Transport tools, equipment, materials, and spare parts to and from work locations.
- Prepare work areas and ensure all required equipment is available before commencing work.
- Assist with equipment assembly, disassembly, and site set-up activities.
- Carry out basic labouring and support tasks under the direction of qualified engineers.
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of work areas, vehicles, and storage locations.
- Assist with loading and unloading vehicles and deliveries.
- Support engineers with inspections, testing, and commissioning activities as required.
- Complete basic documentation, work records, and checklists accurately.
- Ensure compliance with company health, safety, quality, and environmental procedures.
- Report hazards, defects, incidents, and customer concerns promptly.
- Represent the company professionally when working on customer sites.
- Travel to customer locations as required.
- Undertake other duties appropriate to the role as directed by management.
Essential Requirements
- Full clean driving licence - Over 23
- Eligibility to work in Ireland.
Experience
- Experience in a general operative, labouring, maintenance, construction, utilities, or field support role is desirable.
- Experience working in customer-facing environments is desirable.
Knowledge
- Basic understanding of workplace health and safety requirements.
- Awareness of safe use of tools and equipment.
- Understanding of manual handling procedures.
Desirable Requirements
- Safe Pass certification.
- Experience supporting engineers or technicians in a field service environment.
- Experience operating basic power tools and equipment.
- Forklift or MEWP certification.
- Experience working at customer sites or industrial facilities.
Working Conditions
- Work at customer sites, industrial facilities, commercial premises, and company locations.
- Frequent travel required.
- Use of company vehicles where applicable.
- Requirement to wear appropriate PPE.
- Occasional overtime or out-of-hours work may be required to support service activities.
Pay: €33,000.00 per year
