The Role
Hartley People Recruitment are seeking an Engineering Stores Operative on behalf of a leading provider of industrial and energy solutions.
Reporting to the Engineering Stores Manager, you will play a key role in the day-to-day operation of an on-site Engineering Stores function, ensuring the efficient management of MRO spares, consumables and engineering inventory.
Responsibilities will include receiving and processing deliveries through the ERP system, issuing materials to maintenance work orders, maintaining accurate stock records, conducting cycle counts and supporting inventory control activities. You will also be responsible for ensuring all documentation is maintained to the required standards, managing supplier returns, and maintaining a safe, organised stores environment that is always audit ready.
The Person
· Previous experience working in a fast-paced warehouse or engineering stores environment.
· Experience using Microsoft Word and Excel is essential.
· Knowledge of ERP systems would be advantageous.
· Previous manual handling training or experience using manual handling equipment.
· Forklift experience is desirable.
· Strong teamwork skills with the ability to work effectively as part of a busy team.
· Ability to work accurately with detailed information in a structured manner.
· Excellent communication and numeracy skills.
· Ability to follow both written and verbal instructions.
· Good understanding of Health & Safety practices within a warehouse or stores environment.
· Conscientious and hardworking with a strong attention to detail.
· Ability to work effectively in a fast-moving environment while maintaining accuracy.
· Capable of managing multiple priorities and working to tight deadlines.
