We are seeking an experienced Workshop Team Leader to support the effective day-to-day running of the workshop within a busy landscaping and grounds maintenance environment. This is a hands-on leadership role suited to someone who can manage workshop priorities, support and guide the team, diagnose mechanical faults and ensure vehicles, ride-on mowers, small tools and landscaping equipment are maintained to a safe and reliable standard.

Profile
The successful candidate should be practical, reliable and proactive, with the ability to take ownership of workshop standards and lead the team in a calm, organised and professional way. You should be comfortable balancing hands-on repair work with people management, planning and communication.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead, support and organise the workshop team on a daily basis.
- Plan and prioritise repairs, servicing and maintenance work based on operational requirements.
- Diagnose faults and carry out repairs on landscaping machinery, vehicles, ride-on mowers and small tools.
- Work confidently with diesel engines, petrol engines, two-stroke engines and four-stroke engines.
- Carry out and oversee repairs involving electrical and hydraulic systems.
- Ensure workshop records are kept up to date, including servicing, repairs, parts used and outstanding issues.
- Liaise with the Workshop Manager and operations teams to minimise downtime and keep equipment available.
- Maintain strong housekeeping, safety and compliance standards within the workshop.
- Identify recurring faults and recommend practical solutions or improvements.
- Support training, coaching and development of workshop staff.
Requirements:
- Minimum 3 years of experience leading a team in a workshop, mechanical or similar operational environment.
- Strong practical knowledge of mechanical fault-finding and repair work.
- Experience with diesel engines, two-stroke and four-stroke engines.
- Experience with hydraulic systems and electrical fault-finding.
- Experience working with landscaping machinery, grounds maintenance equipment, ride-on mowers, trailers, vans and small tools.
- Ability to organise workload, manage priorities and make decisions under pressure.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to lead by example.
- Good attention to detail, safety and quality standards.
- Full driving licence preferred.
