Role Purpose
The purpose of this role is to support the administration and delivery of a number of media funding schemes, including one newly established scheme currently being developed and implemented. The role will support the successful management of grant contracts and payments, contribute to the ongoing development and improvement of scheme processes, and engage with stakeholders to support the effective operation and promotion of the funding programmes.
About the Team/Division
The Funding Team is part of the Media Landscape Division and is responsible for administering media funding schemes that support the production and delivery of public interest journalism. Media Development is also part of Coimisiún na Meáns Media Landscape Division. A key responsibility of the team is to oversee funding programmes and support the ongoing development of the wider media sector in Ireland. The team manages several funding schemes established following recommendations from the Future of Media Commission.
Key Responsibilities
Supporting the delivery of a number of journalism funding schemes, including processing applications, running assessment panels, and preparing feedback for applicants.
Reviewing grant recipient contract deliverables and processing funding contracts in line with scheme requirements.
Administering monthly grant payment runs and maintaining accurate funding records.
Analysing scheme data and performance metrics and preparing presentations on findings.
Ongoing stakeholder engagement, including webinar presentations.
Preparation of new scheme documentation, process development and ensuring compliance with complex EU State Aid regulation.
Conducting desk research to support funding schemes, policy development, and industry analysis.
Providing oversight and day-to-day line management support to Clerical Officers.

About You
Experience, Skills, Knowledge & Qualifications
Essential Criteria
Strong verbal and written communication skills, including report writing skills and stakeholder engagement.
Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail; ability to interpret complex information.
Proficiency with IT and willingness to learn new IT solutions.
Excellent clerical/administrative experience.
Ability to prioritise and work across a number projects.
Previous experience in journalism and/or the media landscape.
Desirable Criteria
Data analytic skills, including the ability to interpret data and present findings clearly.
Experience with funding schemes, grants administration or similar process-based work.
Some financial experience or familiarity with financial systems.
