Job Title: Accounts Assistant (Temporary Position)
Post: 20 hours per week (Part-time – 3 months contract)
Salary: €17.54 per hour
Reports to: Financial Controller
Location: North Dublin Based
Role Purpose
We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Accounts Assistant to support the day-to-day financial operations of the organisation. Reporting to the Financial Controller, the successful candidate will assist with financial administration, transaction processing, and record maintenance. Flexibility in working hours is essential to meet the needs of this part-time role and support the efficient operation of the finance function.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain and update accurate financial records using Sage accounting software.
- Process accounts payable transactions and complete supplier reconciliations.
- Prepare and monitor payment due schedules to ensure timely payments.
- Record receipts and banking transactions and reconcile them with bank statements.
- Process receipts from various income channels, perform reconciliations, and prepare related control accounts.
- Reconcile and post petty cash transactions and assist with employee expense tracking and verification.
- Support month-end financial processes, including reconciliations and journal postings.
- Assist in the preparation of monthly management accounts and ad hoc financial reports as required.
- Provide general administrative support to the finance function and assist with other duties as assigned by the Financial Controller.
Person Requirements
- Proficiency in accounting software packages and Microsoft Excel.
- Strong understanding of bookkeeping principles and financial processes.
- Previous experience in accounts payable and supplier reconciliations.
- Excellent organisational skills with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently, prioritise tasks, and manage workload effectively.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the confidence to liaise professionally with suppliers and colleagues across departments.
- A proactive and flexible approach, with the ability to adapt to changing priorities.
- Previous experience in a similar finance or accounts assistant role is desirable.
