We are currently seeking a highly skilled and experienced Security Supervisor to oversee the security operations for a major client in Cork (train station). As a Security Supervisor, you will be responsible for managing a team of security personnel, ensuring the smooth running of security operations, and maintaining a safe and secure environment for our client. This role reports directly to the OCS Operations Manager.
This is a full-time permanent role and the schedule is five days over seven, i.e. must be available to work weekends.

Main Duties & Responsibilities
- To ensure that all security staff comply with and adhere to the agreed assignment instructions.
- To ensure security incidents are reported correctly through the incident portal employed on the assignment.
- The day-to-day allocation of duties for the security staff according to the existing instructions and any additional requirement that may deem necessary.
- To ensure maintenance of basic discipline within the rostered shift: i.e., Appearance, Punctuality, and conformity to duty instructions.
- Maintaining written communication in accordance with the site instructions or as requested in a clear concise and legible manner.
- Implementing the emergency procedures in the event of a security incident to ensure that the impact on the client is minimal.
- Recording and Reporting duties and the maintenance of good practice, i.e., Health & Safety, Security Housekeeping.
- Maintaining the Health & Safety and Welfare policy for all rostered Security Staff, in accordance with both the client’s and OCS Security instructions.
- Compliance to the Equal Opportunities policy of OCS security and the client’s within the assignment.
- Collation of all records and reports to affect the smooth running and continual improvement of both the Assignment and the contract.
- Carry out informal counselling sessions where applicable.
Other Duties and Responsibilities.
- Supervise and lead a team of security officers, providing guidance, training, and support as required.
- Develop and implement security procedures and protocols to ensure the safety and security of the client's premises.
- Conduct regular inspections and audits to identify any security risks or vulnerabilities and take appropriate action to mitigate them.
- Monitor CCTV systems and alarm systems to detect and respond to any security breaches or incidents.
- Coordinate with local law enforcement agencies and emergency services when necessary.
- Investigate and report any security incidents or breaches, ensuring accurate documentation and follow-up actions are taken.
- Maintain a strong working relationship with the client, addressing any concerns or issues promptly and professionally.
- Stay updated with the latest security trends, technologies, and best practices, and implement them as appropriate.
Skills Required:
- Proven experience as a Security Supervisor or similar role, preferably in a corporate or high-profile environment.
- Excellent leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team.
- Strong knowledge of security procedures, protocols, and best practices.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with clients, staff, and external stakeholders.
- Proficient in the use of CCTV systems, access control systems, and other security-related technologies.
- Ability to remain calm and composed in high-pressure situations and make quick decisions.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Valid Private Security Authority (PSA) license is desirable.
- Flexibility to work shifts, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays.
