SFM Energy Ltd is a growing and diversified business operating across multiple divisions. We are seeking an experienced and commercially minded Financial Controller to oversee the financial function of the business and provide high-quality financial reporting and analysis to management.
This role is ideal for an experienced accountant or finance professional looking for a part-time position where they can make a meaningful contribution to a growing business.
The successful candidate will ensure financial accuracy, provide management with clear and timely financial information, and help improve reporting systems and financial controls across the business.
Purpose of the Role:
To provide financial oversight of the business, ensuring accurate financial reporting, strong financial controls, timely management accounts, and meaningful analysis of business performance.
The role is focused on financial management and oversight rather than day-to-day bookkeeping.
Key Responsibilities Financial Reporting:
- Prepare monthly management accounts.
- Produce detailed profit and loss reports by business division.
- Review and analyse business performance and key financial trends.
- Prepare balance sheet reconciliations and financial summaries.
- Monitor and report on cash flow and working capital requirements.
Financial Control:
- Ensure financial records are accurate and maintained to a high standard.
- Review accounting entries and month-end procedures.
- Develop and improve financial controls and reporting processes.
- Ensure compliance with relevant accounting and tax requirements.
Planning & Analysis:
- Assist management with budgeting and forecasting.
- Provide financial analysis to support strategic and operational decisions.
- Identify opportunities for cost savings and performance improvements.
- Develop meaningful KPIs and management reporting tools.
Compliance & External Relationships:
- Liaise with external accountants and auditors.
- Assist with year-end accounts preparation.
- Review VAT returns and other statutory filings.
- Support banking and finance relationships where required.
Experience & Qualifications Essential:
- Minimum 5 years' experience in a senior accounting, finance manager, or financial controller role.
- Strong experience preparing management accounts.
- Excellent understanding of financial reporting and accounting controls.
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills.
- Experience using accounting software and ERP systems.
- Ability to work independently and manage priorities effectively.
Desirable
- ACA, ACCA, CPA, CIMA, ATI, or equivalent qualification.
- Experience working within SME or multi-division businesses.
- Experience with Intact accounting software.
- Experience developing financial reporting systems and business performance dashboards.

Pay: €10,000.00-€80,000.00 per year
