Head of Energy Operations

Lead critical utility and facilities management across 30+ client sites throughout Ireland, primarily serving pharmaceutical manufacturing operations. This operational leadership role requires engagement with site management teams and client stakeholders to ensure 24/7 service delivery, regulatory compliance, and operational excellence while managing steam, compressed air, chilled water, cooling systems, pharma-grade HVAC, and electrical power distribution (high, medium, and low voltage).
This role combines strategic business leadership with operational accountability, ensuring delivery of safe customer services, compliance, and sustainable business growth alongside future business pipeline growth across Industrial, Pharmaceutical, Healthcare and Food & Beverage sectors on the island of Ireland.
This role is ideal for an experienced operations leader with deep pharmaceutical sector knowledge who thrives in fast-paced, regulated environments and enjoys hands-on operational leadership.
Key Responsibilities:
Full P&L ownership of Energy Operations in Ireland; drive revenue growth, profitability, and contractual delivery
Lead ~350 indirect reports across General Manager teams; foster a high-performance culture and succession planning
The entire responsibility for Safety for the Energy Operations team, with support from the central Risk & Assurance team. Maintaining and improving a health and safety culture within an area of the business which undertakes activities requiring robust safety protocols.
Manage senior client relationships and business development across industrial, pharmaceutical, healthcare, and food & beverage sectors
Drive sustainability initiatives and process innovation
Oversee safety, compliance, and environmental standards
Participate in M&A opportunities and the Ireland senior leadership team
Implement a medium and long-term growth strategy with stakeholder buy-in
Degree in engineering or relevant discipline, or 10+ years' sector experience in a similar role
Senior management experience in complex organisations
Proven track record leading high-performance technical teams
Commercial and contractual expertise
Strategic thinker with strong implementation and change management skills
P&L management and M&A experience
Excellent stakeholder influence and relationship-building abilities
Emotional intelligence and the ability to work in ambiguity
