The successful applicant will be required to complete domestic surveys for building energy ratings, technical assessments and home energy assessment reports. Training will be provided as required, (duration TBC based on experience) . Following the completion of training, the role will be a mixture of site surveys/visits, working from home with weekly face to face days at our offices in Durrus, near Bantry.
Ideally candidates would have completed a BER course or at a minimum be eligible to complete a BER assessor course and registration with SEAI.
Responsibilities:
- Organise workload and set up site visits as allocated
- Complete surveys visits on properties
- Complete and publish BER's
- Prepare technical assessment and home energy reports including outline specification of retrofit works
- Prepare post works BER's in line with SEAI grant requirements
- Liaise with clients and contractors as necessary
- Update project management systems
Requirements
- Experience in retrofit, construction, engineering, architecture or related field
- Have completed minimum FETAC Level 6 course – a requirement to become a registered BER assessor with the SEAI.
- Full Driving License and own transport
- Base knowledge of retrofit, the materials of construction, building services and a basic understanding of building physics.
- A high level of attention to detail and commitment to quality
- Good verbal, written and customer engagement skills
- Flexibility and drive to complete work assignments to committed deadlines
- Capacity to handle a high volume of workload and complete in an accurate manner
Desirable
- Registration as a BER assessor with SEAI
- Registration as a technical assessor with SEAI or have one or more of the following qualifications: Construction trade or a Level 7 Qualification in a Building Construction related course
- Working knowledge of the DEAP 4 software which is used by BER assessors
- Working knowledge of Irish building regulations
- Microsoft word & Excel Proficiency
- Be proficient in building surveying and measuring
- Experinace working with traditional/historic buildings
- Working knowledge of Wufi Pro for hygrothermal simulation in accordance with EN 15026:2023
