The primary focus of the Shop Manager will be to take overall responsibility for the successful day-to-day management of the store by leading the team, driving performance, and ensuring an exceptional customer experience. The Store manager will work closely with the Directors on all aspects of the business. This role is being offered on a fixed-term basis for 10 months to cover maternity leave.
Key Responsibilities:
The Shop Manager will be responsible for:
1. Store Management
Daily Store Operations: Oversee the day-to-day running of the store, ensuring that it runs efficiently and effectively and the needs of the team and customers are met. Delegate staff duties, manage stock replenishment, organise deliveries, and ensure the store
is always clean and presentable.
Sales Performance: Lead, support, and motivate the shop team to create a warm and welcoming customer experience. Support sales performance and work towards store targets and operational goals.
2. Staff Management
Team Leadership: Collaborate with the Directors to hire, train, and manage a team of employees for the shop. Provide ongoing coaching productivity, motivation, and customer service.
Performance Management: Conduct regular performance reviews for team members,
provide feedback, and set goals for improvement and growth.
Policies and Procedures: Oversee the implementation of operational and company policies such as timekeeping and absent management, dignity and respect at work etc.
3. Financial and Sales Performance
Sales Analysis & Reporting:
Track sales trends, assess performance, and work closely with the Directors to implement strategies to drive sales growth, especially in underperforming categories.
4. Promote Positive Culture
Customer Focus:
Ensure a high level of customer service at all times. Act as the main point of contact on the shop floor, handling customer queries, feedback, and resolve customer complaints and concerns swiftly and professionally, aiming to exceed customer expectations.
Collaborate:
Support the shop team in delivering excellent customer service, driving sales, and reaching profitability targets. Maintain exceptional in-store presentation and customer service standards by ensuring the store environment reflects the brand’s focus. Work closely with the Directors to manage the needs of the shop in terms of recruitment, training, compliance, customer needs, and satisfaction. Foster a positive, inclusive, and collaborative culture.
5. Administrative Duties
Reporting & Documentation:
Maintain accurate records for inventory, sales, employee working hours, and compliance. Report to senior
management on key performance indicators (KPIs), sales growth, and operational challenges. Cash Handling: Reconcile cash and prepare lodgements, complete cash sheets etc.
Skills & Experience:
Essential:
- Previous experience in a retail management role as a Store Manager.
- Proven ability to lead, motivate and develop a high-performing team.
- Demonstrated experience in delivering excellent customer service and creating a welcoming shopping experience.
- Experience achieving sales targets and driving commercial performance through effective merchandising
and team leadership.
- Strong operational management experience, including opening and closing procedures, cash handling, stock control and loss prevention
stock control and loss prevention.
- Experience in staff recruitment, training, coaching, and performance management.
- Excellent organisational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritise competing demands. - A hands-on approach with the flexibility to support all areas of the business as required.
- An interest in Irish craft, design, giftware or premium retail.

- 3+ years’ experience in retail operations, store management, or a business operations role, with independent retail, design-led brands, lifestyle stores, or artisan products.
Pay: €42,000.00-€50,000.00 per year
