We are seeking a reliable and hardworking Warehouse & Stockroom Operative to join our team. This is a varied hands-on role that combines warehouse duties with general maintenance responsibilities. The ideal candidate will be initiative-taking, flexible, and capable of working in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high standards of organisation and customer service.
Core Responsibilities
· Check, receive, and accurately record incoming deliveries against delivery dockets
· Unload and organise stock efficiently and safely within the warehouse and stockroom
· Pick, prepare, and dispatch outgoing orders in a timely manner
· Transport goods internally and externally as required
· Operate warehouse equipment including forklifts and pallet trucks (training provided/certification preferred)
· Maintain a clean, safe, and organised warehouse and stockroom
· Ensure the yard, car park, and garden centre areas are kept tidy and presentable at all times
· Sort and dispose of waste and recyclable materials appropriately
· Carry out general maintenance and basic repair work both indoors and outdoors
· Support the day-to-day operational needs of the business and support the wider team as required
Requirements

· Previous experience in a warehouse or similar environment preferred
· Ability to work in a fast-paced, physically demanding role
· Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
· Ability to multitask and prioritise workload effectively
· Good attention to detail and organisational skills
· Manual handling awareness (training can be provided)
· Forklift licence (preferred but not essential)
· Basic maintenance/handyman skills
· Flexible attitude and willingness to take on a variety of tasks
· Friendly, approachable manner with good customer service skills
· Strong work ethic and ability to work both independently and as part of a team
