Trigon Hotels is looking for a Group Sales & Digital Lead Generation Executive to join our Sales & Marketing team and support new business across Cork International Hotel and The Metropole Hotel.
This is a proactive, revenue-focused sales role with responsibility for identifying new business opportunities, developing relationships with potential clients and converting enquiries into confirmed business.
The role covers a number of areas including group sales, MICE, leisure groups, sports teams, conferences and events, corporate business, food and beverage and the local market. It also has a strong digital element, with a focus on identifying how customers are searching for hotels and making sure our online presence helps generate enquiries.
Key responsibilities
Sales and Business development

Identify and develop new business opportunities across group, MICE, leisure, sports, corporate, events and local markets.

Research companies, associations, sports clubs, event organisers and other potential clients.

Make proactive sales calls and send targeted emails to generate new business.

Maintain an active sales pipeline, keeping records of opportunities, values, stages and next actions.

Qualify enquiries and progress them through proposal, site visit and conversion.

Follow up consistently with potential clients and previous customers.

Re-engage with lapsed clients, previous bookers and lost enquiries to identify future opportunities.

Work towards agreed revenue and budget targets across bedrooms, meetings, conferences, events and food and beverage.
Market and local business development
A key part of the role will be keeping up to date with what is happening in Cork and identifying opportunities for the hotels.
This will include monitoring:

You'll use this information to identify potential clients and decide where proactive sales activity is needed.
Networking and relationship building

Attend relevant business, trade and networking events.

Build relationships with event organisers, sports clubs, associations, corporate clients, agencies and local businesses.

Arrange meetings and hotel showrounds with potential clients.

Follow up with contacts after meetings and networking events.

Maintain accurate records of contacts and future opportunities.

Develop relationships that can generate repeat and future business.
Digital lead generation &AI Search
The role will also support the hotels' digital lead-generation activity.
You'll look at how customers search for accommodation, meetings, events and dining online and identify opportunities to increase enquiries.
This will include reviewing searches and visibility across Google, Google Business Profile, review platforms and AI search tools.
You'll work with the Marketing and Revenue teams to identify opportunities for website content, landing pages, FAQs and clearer enquiry routes.
You'll help identify where there are gaps in our online presence and work with the relevant teams to improve the information available to potential customers.
This is not a technical digital marketing or SEO role. We are looking for someone who is commercially minded and interested in understanding what customers are looking for and how we can turn that demand into business.
Lost and cancelled business

Follow up on lost, cancelled and postponed business.

Record the reason business was not confirmed.

Identify whether the opportunity could return at a later date.

Maintain follow-up reminders for future opportunities.

Use lost business information to identify potential improvements to pricing, product, content or the sales process.
Reporting and systems

Maintain accurate CRM records and ensure leads are correctly source coded.

Track pipeline value, confirmed revenue, lost business and future opportunities.

Provide regular updates on calls, leads, enquiries, proposals, showrounds and confirmed business.

Assist with Guestline reporting and account production where required.

Work with Sales, Revenue, Marketing, Reservations, C&B and Operations to ensure opportunities are followed through.
