The Role
We are seeking a Quantity Surveyor with experience in the architectural steel industry. You will manage the commercial lifecycle of high-specification, bespoke metalwork packages. Your understanding of premium finishes, fine tolerances, and intricate architectural drawings will ensure profitable and precise project delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Estimate costs for architectural metalwork, feature stairs, balustrades, and high-specification finishes (e.g., powder coating, polishing).
- Procure specialized raw materials, glass components, and architectural hardware.
- Manage variations arising from onsite alignment changes, complex junctions, and design revisions.
- Evaluate specialist sub-contractor accounts, including site installers and finishers.
- Track workshop fabrication hours, material wastage, and strict delivery schedules.
Requirements
- Experience of 3+ years within architectural steel, secondary metalwork, or bespoke fabrication.
- Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Economics, or equivalent commercial experience.
- Expertise in interpreting complex architectural details, finishes, and design intents.
- Proficiency in estimating software, advanced MS Excel, and reading CAD drawings.
- Skills in contract administration, strict variation tracking, and supplier negotiation.
