Position Status: Part Time: 30-40 hours a month
Location: Remote - Must be available to travel between Dublin and surrounding areas for the purpose of conducting site visits to Early Years Services.
Purpose & Scope:
The Early Learning & Care Practice Placement Coordinator is responsible for providing leadership, direction and oversight associated with each of the professional practice placement modules to be undertaken by learners over the duration of their level 5 & 6 Early Learning & Care programmes.
Additionally, the Practice Placement Coordinator will assume a module lead role for the delivery of the Practice Placement module on the Early Learning & Care Level 6 programme.
Main duties will consider, but are not limited to each of the following:
- Sourcing suitable work placements for learners, and monitoring learners progress while on placement.
- Engaging with Early Years Services and creating practice placement partnerships on behalf of the college.
- Conducting pre-qualifying site visits to ensure the suitability of Early Years Services (across Dublin and surrounding areas).
- Coordinating and conducting site visits for the purpose of observing the learners in placement (across Dublin and surrounding areas).
- Coordinating with other assistant (regional) placement assessors/tutors for the purposes of pre-qualifying and observation visits (outside of Dublin).
- Working closely with the programme lead to provide updates and reporting on learners' progress while on placement.
- Providing ongoing supports to learners, practice placement supervisors, regional placement assessors and other members of the programme team where relevant.
- Maintaining sector engagement for the overall improvement of the practice placement experience.
- Oversee placement management record responsibilities
- Delivering online lectures – undertaking additional teaching responsibilities

Qualifications & Experience:
Essential
- An undergraduate degree in Early Learning & Care/Early Childhood Education and Care/Early Childhood Teaching & learning or similar
- Recognised Teaching/Training qualification
- 3 years’ experience in a similar role
- Experience with online teaching platforms
- Up-to-date knowledge and understanding of emerging and changing trends relative to the Early Learning & Care sector
Desirable
- Master’s degree relevant to Early Learning & Care sector
- Postgraduate experience working in the Earling Learning & Care sector
- Teaching Council registration
- Understanding of quality issues and requirements in Further Education
