Role Description
We are seeking a Senior Accounts Specialist to take a hands-on, senior role within our finance department. Reporting directly to our Financial Controller, you will take ownership of day-to-day financial operations, accounts preparation, and compliance.
Whether you are a fully qualified accountant, a Senior Bookkeeper, a Senior Accounts Assistant ready for a step up, or highly Qualified by Experience (QBE), if you have a strong background in senior accounts preparation and systems management, we want to hear from you.
Key Responsibilities
- Take full ownership of the Management Accounts process
- Prepare monthly Profit And Loss statements
- Conduct variance analysis
- Manage monthly rebate accruals and oversee Year-End
- Perform Balance Sheet reconciliations
- Maintain control of the GL including accruals and prepayments
- Maintain and update the fixed asset register
- Oversee cashflow forecasting, funds management and FX approvals
- Prepare and submit VAT returns and Intrastat and VIES submissions
- Manage aged stock provisioning and reporting
- Ad-hoc duties as required
- Ensure the seamless integration and flow of financial data between legacy systems
- Participate in our Lean workflows (such as our 10-minute morning meetings), identify areas of improvement (Kaizen) to identify and eliminate administrative waste (Muda) and improve financial reporting efficiencies.
Skills & Experience Required
- Qualifications: As well as Fully Qualified Accountants (ACCA, ACA, CIMA), we welcome applications from QBE professionals, Senior Book-keepers, and qualified/part-qualified accountants.
- Experience Level: You must have extensive, hands-on experience in bookkeeping, accounts preparation, and dealing directly with Revenue.
- Systems Proficiency: Working knowledge of Accounting and Dealer Management Systems such as Sage, Assetminder, Kerridge, Keyloop, CDK is Highly desirable.
- Industry Background: A background in the motor trade, commercial vehicle, or dealership industry is a strong plus, but not strictly essential.
- Attributes: Highly organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable working autonomously while communicating effectively with the wider management team.
