About the role
Haughton Exhibitions is looking for a reliable and experienced driver to support the delivery of exhibition stands and event equipment to venues throughout Ireland, with occasional travel to the UK and Europe.
Driving and logistics will be the primary focus of the role. However, as we operate within the exhibitions and events industry, the successful candidate will also be expected to assist with loading, unloading and basic installation or dismantling work when required.
This position would suit someone who is dependable, practical and comfortable working flexible hours around live event schedules.
Key responsibilities
- Drive company vehicles to exhibition and event venues.
- Deliver and collect exhibition stands, graphics, furniture and equipment.
- Load, secure and unload vehicles safely.
- Check loads against delivery and collection documentation.
- Coordinate venue access, loading bays and delivery times.
- Assist the installation and dismantling teams when required.
- Maintain company vehicles in a clean and presentable condition.
- Complete routine vehicle checks and report any faults promptly.
- Handle equipment carefully and ensure items are returned correctly after events.
- Represent Haughton Exhibitions professionally when dealing with clients, venues and suppliers.
Requirements
- Full, clean driving licence appropriate to the company vehicles.
- Previous professional driving or delivery experience.
- Comfortable driving throughout Ireland and in busy urban areas.
- Reliable, punctual and capable of working independently.
- Good communication and organisational skills.
- Physically capable of loading and handling exhibition equipment.
- Willingness to work occasional early mornings, evenings and weekends.
- Availability for occasional overnight stays and international travel.
- A practical, flexible approach and willingness to assist the wider team.
Desirable experience
- Previous experience in exhibitions, events, logistics or furniture delivery.
- Experience driving larger vans or commercial vehicles.
- Familiarity with venue loading procedures.
- Experience with exhibition installation, shopfitting, staging or similar practical work.
- Manual Handling and Safe Pass certification.
