The role of the credit controller is to provide a professional and efficient cash collection service in a timely manner which complies with company credit terms.
Main duties and responsibilities:
Debt Collection:
· Actively chase overdue invoices via phone, email, and mail.
· Issue monthly statements to customers
· Provide backup and copy invoices to customers where necessary
· Work with accounts payables team on contra accounts
Credit Risk Management:
· Approve new debtor accounts on COD basis
· Assess credit applications,
· Run credit checks on application,
· Recommend appropriate credit limits for new and existing clients for approval.
· Updating details of Customer accounts when required
· Issue credit approval or rejection letters
· Monitoring Debtor’s compliance with agreed Credit Terms
· Monitoring credit risk changes and making recommendations of credit limit changes
· Ensuring that all new Debtors on ledger have approved Credit Terms
· Maintain VAT exemption 56B forms on Debtor accounts
Account Reconciliation:
· Reconcile complex accounts and allocate incoming payments accurately in the accounting system.
· Inputting invoices to customer and agents’ portals
Dispute Resolution:
· Recording of Customer queries
· Investigate and resolve customer billing queries to expedite payment.
· Liaising with operations staff to resolve Customer queries
· Preparing weekly Query Reports for each Department
Reporting:
· Prepare aged debtor reports and cash flow forecasts for management.
· Issuing daily cash collection reports
· Preparing weekly cash projection sheets
Escalation:
· Advising Credit Control Manager of problem accounts as and when they arise
· Escalate unresolved, severely overdue accounts to collection agencies or legal teams when necessary
Additional duties
· Assisting with holiday or sick cover of other credit controllers and other members of the finance team.
Carrying out any additional duties which may be assigned from time to time.
Pay: €35,000.00-€45,000.00 per year
